Receptor and Consequence
“Most” of the main roads within the shopping area at Hythe were inundated during this event, along with some basement-level property in Ryde, Isle of Wight (Ruocco et al. 2011). In Bournemouth, a 15 ft. [4.6 m] gap was created in the promenade. Weymouth experienced electrical issues as the supplies went down. Footpath was washed away as Undercliff Drive was submerged. Bungalows on the esplanade had to be evacuated, some cellars of properties flooded (Burrows, 2017). Minor flooding was also reported from Town Quay and Lower Quay Street, Cowes (Akehurst, 2011).
