This event was reported to have affected Cowes, Portsmouth, Southampton, Wellington, Fareham, Cosham, and Isle of Wight (Zong and Tooley, 2003; Davison, 1993). The flooding was deemed as “the worst anyone had ever known” as many homes at Wellington and Fareham flooded (Davison, 1993). Parts of low-lying Portsmouth also suffered flooding.
