The combination of heavy seas, gales, and torrential rains have led to flooding and considerable damage to the south coast (Akehurst, 2011).

Receptor and Consequence
There was flooding in Sandown and Ryde (Akehurst, 2011). At Ryde, sea wall was damaged and at Spithead, sea wall was breached. Ventnor beach suffered extensive damage.
