This event was associated with flooding in Hampshire. It was reported that several roads were flooded such as road to Lymore which was inundated up to 6 inches, preventing people to St Saviours Church without wellies. Water also flowed around The Rise and flowed around Burley and Rhineford Road. At Lymington Waterloo Road, Broad Lane and Mayflower hotel were all flooded. Concrete beach huts written off at Milford Beach, particularly at Eastern end where the beach is more narrow. East along Hurst shingle bank the sea broke over four groynes pushing shingle into Sturt Pond. A 1100 foot sleeper at Mudeford was toppled by rough seas (Akehurst, 2011).
