Storm Event
Source
A North Sea surge caused the EHW levels which brought about the flooding (Lawrence, 2017).
Pathway
Sea defences were reported to be overtopped next to coastal roads with high winds causing large waves (Lawrence, 2017).
Receptor and Consequence
This event saw minor flooding in the south-east especially around Eastbourne, including A27 and A259 as well as some local streets in the same area (Lawrence, 2017). A promenade near Bognor Regis was also flooded. Street flooding was also reported from The Parade, Town Quay, Queens Road, Esplanade at Cowes, Isle of Wight. Langstone High Street at Havant also submerged in several inches (Bragg, 2015). Minor road flooding also reported at Eling Southampton.
