At Boston, Lincolnshire, the tide was extraordinary high and gales was severe on the coast. At the port of Malden the tide reached above the mark reached in 1874, the low lying districts were flooded (Liverpool Journal, 2002).

Receptor and Consequence
There was coastal flooding in Bootle, Cheshire, Widnes, Southport, Blackpool, and Malden. At Bootle, the sea washed over the sea walls of several private houses flooding the gardens and penetrating into the lower apartments of the houses, two or three large conservatories had the glass roofs carried away and the buildings damaged (Liverpool Journal, 2002).
