Exceptional high tides were the main reason stated for this flooding. There was also a report of spray caught by gales pushing all over the island (Akehurst, 2011).
Pathway
This event saw worst coastal damage at Cowes where large portions of sea defences along Princes Parade were washed away (Akehurst, 2011).
Receptor and Consequence
There was flooding in Isle of Wight during this event. A number of bungalows were flooded at Gurnard Marsh and Cowes high street were also inundated (Akehurst, 2011). There was also report of plants killed by saltwater.
