Receptor and Consequence
According to Zong and Tooley (2003), this event was associated with coastal flooding in Putney, Millbank, Tilbury, Southend, Hull, Scarborough and Cleethorpes. Some tidal flooding was reported for the tidal reaches of the Thames, but serious incidents were avoided and water quickly receded in flooded roads (The Times, 1955).
