Spring tide and heavy seas caused widespread floods (Akehurst, 2011).
Pathway
Rough seas and high tides smashed through 2400 feet length of sea wall at Medmerry front causing large areas of Land at Medmerry front to be flooded (Akehurst, 2011).
Receptor and Consequence
Roads in seafront areas were reportedly flooded by 2 feet such as Limmer Lane and Davenport Road in Felpham (Akehurst, 2011). Fishermans huts smashed by seas at Bognor Regis. West Sands caravan park worst hit with up to 1 foot of water across 80 acres. In one field, water reached 5 feet and was in line with the window of the caravans near the reception which was covered in 5 inches of water. Cottages at River Road and Sussex River Authority Office, Arundel were hit with around 1 foot of water.
