Hight tides and strong north-westerly wind caused flooding in parts of Walton and Brightlingsea (Banjo, 2018).

This event was associated with flooding of The Hard Pub at Burlington, and a washed over of the quay and part of West Street. At Mill Lane Walton, it was reported that floodgates were closed but water still seeped through (Banjo, 2018).
