This event saw flooding in Isle of Wight and Chichester. At Ryde, engineers workshop and slipway swash under 2 feet of water. Seas damaged Quay Road terminal of Hovercraft Ltd due to high tide, high winds and heavy seas. At Selsey, several caravans were damaged. Family evacuated from West Drive after tides and winds broke down sea defences (Akehurst, 2011).
