Receptor and Consequence

This event was associated with flooding in Hythe and Calshot (Ruocco et al. 2011). At the latter location, the head of the spit was isolated once the road adjoining the mainland became inundated. Many local roads were inundated elsewhere, and a low-lying golf course in Southampton was described as having turned into a lake.
