‘Supertides’ allowed for overtopping at locations around the UK during this event, although there were no reports of serious flooding. The Thames Barrier was closed as a precaution, whilst water seeped over the banks of the River Thames during the afternoon, flooding walkways in Greenwich (Buchanan & Saul, 2015).
